Paul wrote to the Church in Phillipi “But I trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timotheus shortly unto you, that I also may be of good comfort, when I know your state.” (Phil 2:19) It dawned on me recently, hand carried letters were more reliable over 2000 years ago, than my emails have been over this last year! I struggle to find the words to describe the frustration, and how to apologize to the over 300 people who use to receive our updates. Unfortunately, it’s unlikely I’ll ever get the chance. During a transfer of website design and hosting duties, our Newsletter Email Update List went away. I have sent out emails using the list, but apparently, no one received them. I only found out when a few churches and individuals started calling to ask if we were still sending them out, and the dramatic drop in our support. Our web designer promised to send a letter apologizing, but that probably won’t happen either. So, I’m sending this letter out by snail-mail and email. If you would like to receive our updates via email, please go to our website, missionaircare.org and at the bottom of the home page, you should be able to click a button, and sign up. I do apologize for the inconvenience and the lack of communication. So many churches and friends have changed emails, and it’s a challenge to keep up. If this doesn’t work, I’m going to gmail!
Our website was shutdown and wiped clean as well, and they are trying to get me where I can post the previous quarterly updates for the last year, which also went away. Fortunately, I at least saved the quarterly updates on the computer. Unfortunately, not all the shorter, informational emails were saved.
Now on to family and ministry news. Thank you for those who prayed for Lynn. She seems to be completely healed from the ruptured appendix and the resulting infections. She sprained her knee while helping in a church kitchen recently, and that’s giving her a fit. But otherwise, much better than she was. Thank you for praying!
Jeremiah still suffers terribly from nerve pain and insomnia, and despite thousands of dollars and countless doctor visits, he hasn’t received any relief. Please pray for him as we continue to work our way through this trial.
I traveled to Alaska again in July for a couple weeks to work on Bro. Nathan Smoot’s plane again this year. Annual inspections and repairs have been accomplished on several other ministry aircraft this summer as well. The twin- engine airplane has a time-consuming inspection and modification that must be accomplished this year. It is preventing a trip down to St. Vincent Island down in the West Indies. This is very disappointing to many. Please pray we will be able to get this plane back online soon, as well as the other ministry opportunities.
I made my annual trip to the cancer treatment facility (Provision Proton Laser Treatment) last month. We praise the Lord, for four years of clean reports. I’m part of a test program for a different protocol, so I’m going to be monitored for two more years.
This is a shorter update, just to update our friends what has happened and to apologize for the problem.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. Your faithful prayers and support sustain us.
