It’ been 3 weeks since I sent out our first hurricane relief update. Thank you for praying for the thousands who were, and still are suffering from hurricane Florence. By God’s grace, and with the trust of many partners, Mission Air Care has delivered over 400,000 pounds of food, water, cleaning supplies, thousands of tracts, and hundreds of Bibles/John and Romans. The various ministries of Anchor Baptist Church in Pisgah Forest, NC, and several out of state churches, have entrusted us with trucks, drivers, and supplies. Local churches in several towns and cities have received the supplies, staged them in their facilities, and distributed it throughout their community. Many of these churches are doing so, even as they attempt to rebuild their facilities. God has allowed Mission Air Care to be the conduit, or channel, through which all this aid has flowed. I have personally heard of about 14 people who have asked God to save their souls during this trying time in their lives. Luke 15:10 Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.
Little did we know that as the need for our service was declining here in the Carolina’s, a much larger disaster was heading towards the Panhandle of Florida. Here in Washington, NC, a 53′ trailer was loaded with water, and two 26′ Penske box trucks were loaded with food and cleaning supplies. Thursday night, Nate Holmes, drove one of the rented Penske trucks all night to deliver much needed aid to those who didn’t evacuate. The other two trucks left later that same night. Nate’s reports of the devastation of Panama City defy description. Nate told me that if there was ever any doubt in his mind that God had directed him to joining Mission Air Care, these last 4 weeks have confirmed that he is right where God wants him and his family. Many have prayed for this family. Thank you.
The aircraft haven’t been as practical as the trucks have been. The trucks carry thousands of pounds, and the planes can only carry hundreds of pounds. Also, with both of our hangars being used as warehouses, I’m behind on aircraft maintenance. Please pray I catch up quickly. I have two repairs to complete, and two annual inspections to get done. Thank you for your prayers and support. By praying and supporting us, you are supporting those who we are helping. Thank you. I feel inadequate and unworthy, but I am continually reminded of these words…
Matthew 25:40 “And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.”
