Dear Prayer Partners,
It’s hard to believe we are a quarter of the way through 2018 already, isn’t it? There are the same number of days in each month as there always has been, (I checked) the same number of hours in each day, and yet, I still fail to get everything done that I want to do. Lord, help us to “redeem the time…” (Eph 5:16)
I find myself embarrassed, after working 16 years in Alaska, that it’s been too cold here in North Carolina to work on the ministry airplanes! The weather here in NC, like many places, has been unusually crazy, for this area. Of course, my new friends blame me for bringing the “cold” weather down with me. The hangar I rent down here has no heat, I guess my blood has thinned out, and my bones seem to get colder here than the dry cold of Alaska. Nonetheless, the inspection is complete on the twin engine plane, and work is moving forward. As always is the case with work vehicles, problems were found, and it would be irresponsible not to make the repairs. I’m saving up funds from a short-term job at the airport that makes up for lost support and medical bills. Lord willing, the plane will be back on line, next month.
Lynn and Jeremiah appreciate your prayers. We all experienced the various ailments, flu, that went around. Lynn got pneumonia and sinus infections. Jeremiah has been waiting to see doctor he was referred to since December. (I’m told our healthcare has gotten better over the last 8 years.) He still is in constant pain, and the 8 months of testing hasn’t revealed the source. Most of you remember him as an energetic boy, but he has grown up and turned 24 in January.
There are several people I would ask you to pray for, who need Christ in their lives. Twenty years ago, I would list their names, so you could pray for them specifically, but prayer letters are posted on the internet these days. So please pray the Holy Spirit of God would work in hearts of those we attempt to reach for Him.
Thank you for praying for our co-workers, the Holaday and Holmes families. The Holmes will be arriving in May, and after getting settled in, Nate will be sharpening his flying skills. The Holaday’s plan to base out of NC while continuing to raise support on the east coast. It will be a busy summer and great to have the team together. “…a threefold cord is not quickly broken.”
There are few things that can frustrate me more than computer stuff. So, our Lord seems to use technology as His preferred tool to chip away areas in my life that need work. For years, we have managed not to have many issues with emails or our website. Well, that hasn’t been the case for several months now. My email is working correctly now, but Lynn’s hasn’t for quite some time. Hopefully soon. It has been almost a year in the works, but our Mission Air Care website is updated and online now. It’s exciting to see this new chapter in the ministry! Please pray our Lord will use the lessons learned in the last action-packed chapters to train more, serve more, and glorify Him more, than we think is possible. Please use the new website to follow the progress of the team God is putting together and catch up on news.
As always, May God continue to bless you as you serve Him.
