Dear friends and supporters,
Since we had such a difficult time with our website and email list last year, I should review some of the ministry and family highlights. Early in the year, a longtime friend and coworker in the ministry, unexpectedly went home to be with our Lord. Anyone who has followed our ministry for any length of time knows how our Lord used Bro. Dave Crispell in the lives of many, while he served with Mission Air Care. His home going left a huge void in many lives and ministries. Since that time, I’ve been striving to repair, inspect, and sell the cabin in Alaska and his planes, so his dear bride, Pat, doesn’t have to deal with those headaches. It has been quite a challenge, so please pray these projects will be completed this year.
The impact of hurricanes Florence and Michael are still being felt. We won’t know, this side of heaven, the full impact of your prayers and support. I praise the Lord for how He providentially brought Bro. Nate Holmes and, Chris Holaday and their families here this summer, just before Florence hit the east coast. So much more was accomplished with because they were here. Bro. Chris made a MAC flight to bring a nurse back to Wilmington, NC while the roads were still impassible. It turned out transporting food and supplies by truck was the most cost effective and efficient way to haul the over 500,000 pounds of food, water, and cleaning supplies. Brother Nate’s experience in logistics proved invaluable. It was obvious to all God had brought him here “for such a time as this.” Hurricanes are extremely destructive, and the devastation lasts a long time. God showed us how MAC can play a crucial roll in disasters, and we are taking steps to be better prepared to “give a glass of cool water” to those in need in the future. Thousands of Bibles were given to churches and individuals in 3 states. The Gospel was given out with food and supplies, numerous people trusted Christ, and thousands in churches and communities were helped. I believe God was honored. Your prayers and support helped us, help others. God bless you!
February and March will be time spent on aircraft inspections, maintenance, and repairs. The annual inspection on the twin engine will be completed, an annual on Bro. Crispell’s C-172, Mission Aero’s C150, and our Piper Lance are all scheduled. Please pray as we continue to reach out to ministries who need aviation services. We are meeting with Christ-honoring works down in the Caribbean who need our help, much like the network of churches we helped in Alaska. Our desire is to help church planting missionaries do more with the resources they have. Your prayers and financial help are being multiplied.
It has been a rough several months for Lynn and Jeremiah physically. Both are still struggle daily. Please pray our Lord will guide us to the right doctor(s) who can give relief without harsh drugs. We thought we were going to find better health care down here, but that hasn’t been the case so far.
As I close this update, I think back to a truck driver I spoke with. I was giving him a Bible, and I asked him if he had ever thought about where he would spend eternity when he died. He quickly replied, “Hell.” As I shared with him, from his new Bible, God’s love and way of Salvation, God saved his soul. He said he knew his mother prayed for him, and she would be excited to hear he was a Christian now. God says even the angels in heaven rejoice over one soul who receives Christ! I thank our Lord for your prayers and support. It would be so much more difficult to do what we do, without your help.
From the Malpass family, to your family, thank you!
Earl, Lynn, & Jeremiah Malpass
