We received another note from a church which said, “We have Lynn on our prayer list, so many people will be praying for her”. It is humbling and encourages our heart when we get these notes. How could we ever thank everyone who paused and offered a prayer up for us? We will not know this side of Glory the results of your prayers. Thank you.
Here’s the latest. Lynn’s doctor determined that the seizure was a result of three medicines not “playing well together.” The medicine was for Fibromyalgia. So, if you are going to have a seizure, we suppose this is as good of a cause that there can be. At least it is easily fixed.
Our church service at Manley was a real special time this weekend. Earl baptized a young lady who had received Christ as her savior but had not been scripturally baptized. Yes, we performed the baptism in our “Garden of Eden,” and this time the grapes were ripe! Nicole invited some of her un-churched friends, and we were privileged to have 33 in attendance for the service. In times past we were happy if 6 folks showed up-- and still would be. However, it is encouraging to watch the Lord work in more hearts and change lives. Please pray for these dear folks, especially as we prepare to leave them for our 6- month furlough. Just when things seem to be going so well, we have to leave. We know how important reporting to our supporters is, but we wish there was a better way. What will happen while we are gone?
Speaking of furlough, we are planning on leaving Alaska the last week of August. When we asked for meetings, we didn’t get many responses. So we will be sending each church a notice in the mail of when we will be attending one of your services. We will be prepared to do as much or as little as you would like for us to do. We plan on traveling from one church to the next in an effort to visit every church which supports us.
Also, we have attached a letter to you from one of the missionaries whom we help. It was unsolicited and addressed to you, our prayer and financial supporters. We hope it will help you understand you have a greater impact than you might know.
You will be able to reach us on our cell phone while we are furlough. Earl’s is 907.388.7253. We hope to see you all this winter. May our Lord continue to bless and meet your every need as you serve Him.
How's Lynn? 07/22/2008
Thank you for your prayers on Lynn’s behalf. They have made a difference. Her headaches have gone. For that we are extremely grateful. We are still waiting for an appointment with the neurologist, and are not sure what caused the seizure. Her doctor believes it is possible that there was a conflict between her fibromyalgia medicines which caused it. Today has been the first “normal day” since Thursday afternoon. You folks have been a blessing to us and we are at a loss for words to thank you for your prayers.
You can join us as we pray that this was a fluke caused by medicine and that it will never happen again, and that the neurologist will not find any abnormalities.
All the flights were made by other Christians and Earl was able to stay close to home, which was a comfort to Lynn. We only have a few more flights to make before we head out on furlough in September, but there is much preparation that still needs to be accomplished before we leave our Alaska ministry for 6 months. Our village ministry, distribution ministry, facility maintenance, packing, moving, prepping the vehicle, etc...
God is good, all the time!
